Lufthansa Cargo is re-organising its charter business with effect from 1 April. The cargo carrier’s charter activities, previously in the hands of the Lufthansa Cargo Charter Agency subsidiary, will then be integrated in the line organisation of Lufthansa Cargo.

The chartering of Lufthansa Cargo’s own cargo aircraft for special transports will remain part of the core business. Contact partners for customers will be available at Lufthansa Cargo sales offices, worldwide. The dedicated competence centers will support specific customers operating in such areas as valuable freight. The new set-up will in future enable the Company to address even more individually the specific requirements of complex charter transports. 

Cooperation with the world’s leading charter broker Chapman Freeborn will strengthen the marketing of own aircraft capacities available at short notice. A contract on cooperation in the charter business will be signed by representatives of Lufthansa Cargo and Chapman Freeborn later this week.

Customers will also benefit from the cooperative tie-up on charter contracts, which Lufthansa Cargo does not handle with its own aircraft. For such transports, Chapman Freeborn with its 35 offices, worldwide, will be available as partner to customers of Lufthansa Cargo.
