Lufthansa Cargo is deemed best cargo airline of 2014 in Italy
The cargo subsidiary is honoured with three awards in Milan
Lufthansa Cargo was awarded the highest accolade as best cargo airline of 2014 in Italy by the Italian air forwarders association (ANAMA). The "Quality Award for Overall Performance" honours the airline's commitment to air freight in Italy. Last week in Milan, the Frankfurt based cargo subsidiary was awarded first place in both the "Innovation" and "Safety & Security" categories, and the team led by Thomas Egenolf, Director Italy & Malta at Lufthansa Cargo, took second place in the "Customer Service" category.
Marina Marzani, President of ANAMA, emphasised the inspiration behind the award: "Lufthansa Cargo definitely earned the best freight airline award. The airline particularly impressed us due to the professionalism of the Customer Service Team, the commitment and support provided to Italy's air cargo industry, the high level of expertise in all areas of air cargo and the fantastic work carried out in the current tough market conditions."
Quite a special moment for Thomas Egenolf, as this was the first time that this coveted award has been given to Lufthansa Cargo in Italy: "For years, we have dedicated ourselves to being the best cargo airline in the country and this time we are actually taking the prize home. We are happy and proud that our work has been honoured in this way. We want to continue to improve and be the most reliable partner for our customers."
The Italian air forwarders association ANAMA awards the "Quality Awards" to its industry partners each year. General sales agents, handling agents and airlines are honoured in a gala. For the airlines, prizes are awarded to accredit the companies' dedication in different categories. In addition, eminent persons of the industry are honoured and the coveted "Quality Award for Overall Performance" is given out by the association.
