Latest flight information – Flights to Japan are disrupted as a result of the earthquake
Devastating earthquake in Japan with Tsunami
The devastating earthquake in Japan and the subsequent Tsunami, have led to a disruption of flights to Japan at Lufthansa Cargo.
On Friday, the two airports of Haneda (HND) and Narita (NRT) in Tokyo had to be closed down for an indefinite period. At the moment, there is no reliable information about when precisely the two airports will be able to start their operations once again. The airports in Osaka (KIX) and Nagoya (NGO) have not been affected by the earthquake and can largely continue to operate without problems.
As a result of the unclear situation on the spot, Lufthansa Cargo has cancelled Flight LH8384 to NRT (Scheduled departure Friday 19.05 hrs. UTC).
The status of Lufthansa passenger flights can be checked at www.lufthansa.com.
The delivery of freight for Japan continues to be possible without any restrictions.
In the next few days there could possibly continue to be some delays and flight cancellations in airfreight traffic. We currently expect that the situation will ease by tomorrow.
Information on the status of your shipments can be found at all times in the TrackIT system, Shipments which are affected by cancelled flights, will be rebooked on the next possible flights.
We sincerely regret any possibly delays. Please rest assured that the staff of Lufthansa Cargo are working at full power to ensure that the disruptions for our customers are as minimal as possible.
