Lufthansa Cargo at the largest trade show for cut flowers and horticulture in Amsterdam.

Over 253 national and international exhibitors were featured from 4 to 6 November at the "International Floriculture & Horticulture Trade Fair" in Amsterdam. This was already the sixth edition of the event, which is the largest and most important show of its type in Amsterdam, the huge European trade hub for flowers.

More than 27,000 visitors from 128 countries came to see all kinds of horticultural and floricultural products. Lufthansa Cargo’s teams from Amsterdam and Nairobi were also at the event. While the colleagues had previously only attended as visitors, Lufthansa Cargo had a stand of its own for the first time at this year’s edition.

Alongside customer relations the focus was on promoting a service innovation for Amsterdam’s florists: with a direct truck connection from Aalsmeer to Frankfurt the fresh products are transported directly by truck from the world’s largest trade centre for flowers and plants to the Frankfurt hub. From Frankfurt the flowers and plants are then flown to destinations all over the world via Lufthansa Cargo’s network. This service is new and will be available from December.

“We were positively surprised by the large number of direct and indirect customers whom we were happy to welcome at our stand. Apart from sending out a very positive signal to the market players we also took home a number of very concrete sales leads”, reports Thomas Rohrmeier, Regional Manager for the Netherlands and Luxembourg, showing his satisfaction with the event.
