Young professionals have voted Lufthansa the most popular employer in the field of logistics services.
Lufthansa Cargo attracts up-and-comers looking for their dream job in logistics. The airline took first place in the “Logistics service provider” category in VerkehrsRundschau magazine’s “Top Logistics Employer 2014” study. The company came third behind Volkswagen and BMW in the overall ranking. The more than 1,000 members of the “Young Logistics Club” (YouLoC) formed two years ago by VerkehrsRundschau were surveyed. The club is made up of young professionals starting out in their logistics careers, university students and business apprentices.
“We are delighted that prospective logisticians consider us one of the top employers in the country”, said Stephanie Wulf, Head of HR at Lufthansa Cargo. “An exciting environment, attractive development opportunities and an open work culture - that's what Lufthansa Cargo is synonymous with.”
Lufthansa Cargo has lots of ways for young people with a talent for logistics to get on board. Besides the two-and-a-half-year apprenticeship to become a freight forwarding and logistics manager, young professionals can also avail of the company’s approx. 18-month “StartCargo” trainee programme. Job portal Absolventa awarded Lufthansa Cargo its recognised seal of quality for its trainee programme in the spring of this year. Lateral entrants from the natural and social sciences and the arts can also acquire sound, practical business administration skills in 24 months using “learning by doing” methods on “JOPP” (the “Join our Practice Programme”).
