50,000 Facebook fans – 5,500 images – 50 finalists – 5 winners: After five long weeks, Lufthansa Cargo’s #NetworkingTheWorldContest has come to an end.
“I spent time fishing with locals in Alaska, and I slept on kitchen floors and in family backyards in Mexico. I was given jobs in foreign countries, accepted warm beds on cold nights, and was offered girls' hands in marriage (more than once!).” Nate Prescott from the USA, one of 50 finalists of the #NetworkingTheWorldContest, describes the experiences of his longest journey so far: 15,000 miles by bike from Alaska to Chile in 13 months. In other words, a real globetrotter, who made hearts beat faster with the video he submitted for the final round of the contest. Prescott provides impressive insight into the different cultures and ethnic groups spread over the American continent, and delivers his very own interpretation of networking the world: “For me it means embracing and connecting with the humanity of everyone you encounter, and letting those positive experiences shape your life - and the world - for the better.”
Nate Prescott is one of 50 finalists who sent in entries according to the motto of Lufthansa Cargo’s social media contest “Show us your best photo – at one of your favourite locations world-wide”. They created dynamic videos and amazing images of people, cultures and emotions that make you simply want to get up and travel.
Around 5,500 images reached us via Facebook and Instagram in the first round. In the second round the 50 selected finalists, including Nate Prescott, had to prove themselves as talented photographers and journalists once more. Lufthansa Cargo will send the five lucky winners of the contest, to be announced this coming Sunday on Facebook, to Johannesburg, Mumbai, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles or Istanbul. According to the motto: Discover the fascinating world of air cargo. The five winners will bring home spectacular images and exciting stories from this tour.
