Peter Gerber is Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, Dr. Alexis von Hoensbroech is responsible for Product and Sales, Sören Stark is responsible for Operations and Dr. Martin Schmitt is the Board member for Finance and Human Resources.

Peter Gerber has been the Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG since May 2014. Besides his duties as CEO, Gerber is also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa CityLine as well as in the supervisory board of Albatros.
He was born in Gießen on March 1, 1964. After passing his university entrance exams in 1983, he studied law and business management in Gießen and Hagen. Additionally he completed a senior executive programme at Columbia University in New York in 2008.
Gerber started his career with Lufthansa in 1992 in the human resources area and the Legal department. His main focal points there were the development of the new retirement pension scheme and the Miles & More programme. Following that, he assumed various positions within the Group, such as in Lufthansa’s cost-cutting programme “Programm 15”.
As of 1997, he was the manager responsible for the area of corporate settlement, fees and charges. Here Gerber dealt mainly with airport and air traffic control fees, charges and liaison with state authorities. Between June 2001 and 2004 Gerber was appointed Project Manager responsible for the Group-wide result safeguarding programme “D-Check”. From June 2003 to August 2011, Gerber was responsible at Lufthansa for the “Air Transport Initiative for Germany”. Additionally, he was responsible for strategic corporate development in 2004.
From December 2004 to May 2009, Gerber took over corporate industrial relations and social security departments for the Lufthansa Group.
He was appointed to the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG with responsibility for Finance and Human Resources in June 2009.
In June 2012, Gerber switched to the Executive Board of Lufthansa Passage Airlines, where he was responsible for the Human Resources, IT & Services division.

Product and Sales.
A member of the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board since December 1, 2014, Dr. Alexis von Hoensbroech is responsible for global sales, handling outside our hubs FRA and MUC, product management, revenue management, network planning, the platform management of Austrian Airlines and the strategic eCargo project.
He studied physics at the University of Bonn before obtaining a doctorate in an astrophysics-related subject at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. Between 1999 and 2005, he worked at management consultancy company The Boston Consulting Group in Munich and Tokyo, most recently as a Project Manager. His customers were primarily from the airline industry.
In 2005, Dr. Alexis von Hoensbroech moved to Lufthansa, taking on responsibility for the Strategy & Subsidiaries division of Lufthansa Passage. In 2009, he was named "Project Manager for Airline Integration Management", where he was responsible for the integration of various airlines, such as Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, into the Lufthansa Group. Between July 2010 and October 2014 the manager has been "Head of Commercial Frankfurt" for Lufthansa Passage and responsible for network management, revenue management and commercial business management at the airline's biggest hub.
Dr. Alexis von Hoensbroech is married and has five children.
Finance and Human Resources.
A member of the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board since January 1, 2013, Dr. Martin Schmitt is responsible for Finance and Human Resources, which comprises HR, Finance & Accounting, Procurement & Infrastructure, Controlling and Information Management.
Dr. Martin Schmitt was born in Mainz on August 9, 1960. After finishing high school in 1979, he went on to study law in Constance and London, graduating in 1985 with qualifications to be a judge. From 1987 to 1989, he worked as a research assistant at Constance University where he gained a Doctor of Laws degree.
Dr. Schmitt began his career at Lufthansa in 1989. Until 1998, he held several positions within the Human Resources division including Head of Human Resources for Cabin Staff. From 1998 to 2001, he was in charge of the Munich station and was the Executive Board representative for the Lufthansa Munich hub.
In 2001, Dr. Martin Schmitt was appointed Head of Corporate HR Policy for Lufthansa AG. In this position, he was in charge of Group-wide HR and Industrial Relations, the Lufthansa School of Business, university marketing and trainee programs, among other responsibilities.
Dr. Schmitt is married and has two sons.
Sören Stark was born in Braunschweig on 12/01/1967. After completing his degree in industrial engineering with a focus on logistics and materials handling in Berlin and Paris, Sören Stark worked as a management consultant and project manager at ICARUS CONSULTING GmbH in Frankfurt until 1998. From 1998 to 2001, Stark served as Head of Logistics for the industrial glass division at SCHOTT Glaswerke in Mainz.
The branch of his career path at Deutsche Lufthansa AG began in 2001 in Frankfurt when Sören Stark served as operations manager for the “Frankfurt Flugservice Konzern”. From December 2004 to December 2010, Stark was Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Logistik GmbH. He was appointed Senior Vice President Aircraft Base Maintenance for Lufthansa Technik AG in January 2011.
Sören Stark has been Executive Board member of Lufthansa Cargo AG with responsibility for Operations since 1 April 2016.
