First Law amending the German Aviation Security Law.
On March 4th, 2017, the First Law amending the German Aviation Security Law (Luftsicherheitsgesetz - LuftSiG) came into effect.
According §9a (5) and (6), Lufthansa Cargo AG as party of the secure supply chain, is obliged to document the following data of persons delivering cargo and mail in Germany: Name, national ID number or passport number, date of birth and unique identifier of the consignment.
Therefore the person who delivers consignments on your behalf is requested to provide the data required by law on delivery. The data has to be stored for the duration of the flight or for at least 48 hours for possible checks by the Civil Aviation Authority. After this period all data shall be deleted.
