Lufthansa Cargo, Europe's largest air cargo carrier, and Cathay Pacific Cargo, one of the leading air cargo carriers in Asia, entered a joint business agreement in May 2016. More direct connections, greater flexibility and time savings combined with service enhancements – these are just some of the benefits customers will enjoy. Both airlines will work closely together on network planning, as well as sales, IT and ground handling. This will bring Hong Kong, the world’s busiest air cargo hub, closer to Europe, strengthening one of the world’s great trade lanes.
In October 2016 Lufthansa Cargo moved its local freight handling into the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal in Hong Kong as part of the carriers’ joint business agreement. In January 2017 Cathay Pacific Cargo did the same in Frankfurt.
As of February 1st the first shipments under the cooperation framework have been transported – initially from Hong Kong to Europe. The ability to also book eastbound shipments from Europe to Hong Kong will then follow in 2018.
All connections of the cooperation between Cathay Pacific Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo can be found under Schedule & Routings.
