These FAQs are applicable for joint venture flights on LH and ANA and contain general information as well as specific eBooking information.
What benefits do I have as a customer?
A wider net with increased frequencies and more direct flights on routings between Japan and Europe, more capacity, flexibility and time saving.
What routings are bookable on ANA flights?
The wider network includes up to fourteen direct flights a day between Tokyo Haneda (HND),Tokyo Narita (NRT), Nagoya (NGO) and Osaka (KIX) and London Heathrow (LHR), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Frankfurt (FRA), Dusseldorf (DUS), Munich (MUC) and Vienna (VIE).
From 3rd August 2015 on, customers in Germany, France, United Kingdom and Austria can book all Joint Venture flights from Europe to Japan including selected feeder and de-feeder services within the network.
Which stations will be offered?
Within Japan: Tokyo Haneda (HND), Tokyo Narita (NRT), Nagoya (NGO) and Osaka (KIX).
Within Europe: All stations currently open for cargo in Germany, Austria, France and UK.
Which products and services can be booked on ANA flights?
Standard cargo (td.Services) with priority td.Pro and td.Flash can be booked on ANA flights. Specials such as dangerous goods, animals or temperature-sensitive goods are excluded in a first step.
Are my rates also valid on ANA flights?
LH Cargo TACT, SRS and dedicated SRA rates can be booked on ANA flights. The shipment will receive access to an ANA flight if the booked revenue rate meets the access criteria defined by ANA. Additionally, ad hoc rates (spot quotations) can be requested for both LH Cargo and ANA flights.
Is it possible to book 205(NH)-AWBs via Lufthansa Cargo and 020(LH)-AWBs via NH?
No, only 020(LH)-AWB bookings are possible in the Lufthansa Cargo system, eBooking just as only 205-AWB bookings are possible in ANA systems.
Which customers are able to book JV routings?
All LH customers with an LAV-number can book JV routings.
Where should I deliver my shipment if the first leg is a NH flight?
The AWB-Prefix is relevant for delivery. Therefore please deliver your 020-AWB-shipments to Lufthansa Cargo’s facilities, even if your first leg is a NH flight.
Where should I pick up my shipment if the last segment is a NH flight?
You need to pick up your shipment at ANA’s facilities if the last segment is a NH flight. Freight is handled in joint warehouses in numerous stations. In Japan, ANA handles LH Cargo at Tokyo Haneda (HND), Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Nagoya (NGO) airport. In Europe, LH Cargo handles ANA in Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC) and Dusseldorf (DUS).
How to book ANA routings in eBooking.
Basic Booking Information (BBI)
Is it possible to view, update or delete NH (205)-AWBs in eBooking?
No, that’s not possible. It is only possible to process LH (020)-AWBs in LH systems.
How far in advance is it possible to book on NH flights?
It is possible to book up to 14 days in advance on NH flights.
Will I get a confirmation out of office hours?
In case you book a routing with a NH segment, your request will be processed by ANA Flight Control Office within their office hours which are Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 18:30 CET.
Is it possible to identify available capacity on NH flights using the “Check Capacities” function?
Yes, this function can be used thanks to an automated exchange of capacity information.
Is it possible to define a routing with an NH segment?
Yes, you can use the “Define Routing” screen to define NH flight segments by selecting “NH” in the drop-down menu in the “Airline” section.
Is it also possible to load a Permanent Booking Template (PBT) for NH flights?
Yes, there is no difference between a PBT with an LH or NH routing.
Is it possible to book into an allotment (“Capacity Agreement”) on NH flights?
No, allotments are not offered on NH flights.
Is it possible to use quotations on NH flights?
Yes, shipments with an existing quotation can be booked via eBooking.
Is it possible to book eFreight on NH flights?
Yes, ANA supports “EAW” and “EAP” eFreight SPLs and is able to process eAWBs.
Is it possible to make pre-bookings on Joint Venture flights?
No, pre-bookings are not allowed on Joint Venture flights. Bookings are possible maximum 14 days in advance.
Does checking “Unsecured Shipment/Unsecured Shipper” have any effect on Joint Venture routings?
Yes, the SPL “SEC” will be generated and will ensure longer handling times, also for Joint Venture routings.
Is it possible to book a “CCSF Secured” shipment on a NH routing?
This feature is only needed for bookings departing from the USA/Puerto Rico and triggers SPL “SPX.” It is therefore not required on Joint Venture routings departing from Japan and Europe.
Is it possible to book shipper loaded ULDs on NH flights?
No, if you have checked “Shipper loaded ULD”, no NH flights will be offered for the time being.
Is it possible to book consolidated shipments on NH flights?
Yes, consolidated shipments can be booked on NH flights, but only loose and not loaded on/in ULDs.
Is it possible to book dry ice on NH flights?
No, if you have checked “Contains Dry Ice”, no NH flights will be offered.
Is it possible to select the “Realtime tracking” option for Joint Venture flights?
No, until further notice, this option is not available for Joint Venture routings.
Is it possible to book contract rates on Joint Venture routings?
Yes, if respective dedicated SRA rates have been set up.
What kind of payment/charge code is accepted on Joint Venture routings?
Only Prepaid is allowed. “Pre-Paid” is the default value in eBooking.
Shipment Information (SI)
Is a manual split on Joint Venture flights possible?
No, split bookings are not allowed on Joint Venture flights.
Routes available (RA) for the Shipment – Flight Details
Are NH flights displayed separately in the Routes available screen?
No, the fastest routing is displayed first, no matter if it includes NH or LH flights.
Is emission information available for routings or segments with NH?
No, emission information will not be available for routings or segments with NH.
