Prompt and professional medical aid for the needy in Nairobi as well as the establishment of an orphanage for homeless children instance the practical assistance rendered by the Cargo Human Care humanitarian aid project. A charitable organisation, it was founded in cooperation with German doctors by Lufthansa employees in 2007 and enjoys the backing of the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board.

In 2009, the organisation opened the Cargo Human Care (CHC) Medical Centre in cooperation with local medical institutions and charitable associations to provide health care to the local population in Nairobi. CHC is currently focused on projects in rural areas around Nairobi.

The Mothers‘ Mercy Home in Kianjogu north of Nairobi, an orphanage and the Cargo Human Care Medical Centre provide medical care to people urgently in need of treatment.

Medical treatment at the Centre is given voluntarily by doctors from Germany. Lufthansa Cargo provides the doctors with flight tickets and free transport capacity for medical equipment. The CHC meets the expenses of the Kenyan staff at the Cargo Human Care Medical Centre and funds medical treatment and operations at the local Nazareth Hospital.
