Certification according to ISO 14001

One of our successes is the certification of our environmental management system according to the international environmental standard ISO 14001. After a successful implementation in Frankfurt in 2008, also Leipzig has been certified in 2009. Since 2010 all German stations are ISO-certified. Now we reach 70% of Lufthansa Cargo employees with training on environmental aspects. The expansion of the environmental management system for selected international stations is planned for 2012.

With our environmental management system, we systematically monitor and document our environmental activities. Aside from annual internal and external audits, the entire system of environmental care is rigorously checked by external auditors prior to recertification every three years.
