Temporarily night-flight ban in FRA:

Winter flight schedule accordingly adapted from end of October

The surprising court ruling banning night flights temporarily at Frankfurt Airport from 30 October has triggered immense uncertainty in the entire logistics industry. Knowing well that planning security and reliability are indispensable especially in the airfreight business, we have done our utmost in the past few days to come up promptly with an attractive and dependable timetable for you despite the difficulties with which the court ruling confronted us.

From today the new winter flight schedule* will be at your disposal in all reservations systems for you to book the capacities you may require. The good news for you: In spite of the massive restrictions at our major hub, we will have to drop only two weekly connections to China from our previous timetable. However we can still offer you alternatives with our own freighter services or belly capacities on Lufthansa passenger aircraft.

Additionally, the times of specific flights will change because of the new operating times at Frankfurt Airport. On the whole, however, the offer for you as a customer will remain generally stable.
We have been able to keep our timetable largely intact despite the necessary short-term changes but only by dint of intense effort, by resorting to a number of ad-hoc measures and at considerable expense.

On diverse connections, for example, we have had to plan additional technical stopovers at Cologne/Bonn Airport so as not to lose internationally negotiated overflight and landing rights. From January probably, we will have at least one MD-11 freighter stationed permanently at Cologne/Bonn Airport in order to continue offering you overnight flight departures to the US.

By adapting our winter flight schedule, we are convinced that we are still laying on the best connections to 300 destinations in our global network despite the enforced changes. Naturally, we greatly appreciate your understanding for the alterations to our winter timetable. Please do not hesitate to address us with any queries you may have about our adapted schedule.

The updated timetable is also available for download at this page.
