We are happy to be able to inform you that, as of next Saturday, 9th April, we will be serving the Brazilian city once again with the usual two MD-11F frequencies per week.
All times are local times (subject to official approval by the authorities):
| Day | Flight | Frankfurt | Curitiba (CWB) | |
| Wed | LH 8268 | 06:45 | 18:50 | |
| Sat | LH 8272 | 20:55 | 08:40 +1 |
Besides Curitiba, with Viracopos, Manaus, Buenos Aires, Quito and Bogota, as usual we serve six destinations in South America with a total of nine weekly freighter connections. You will also find information about our network here.
We would like to thank you for your understanding during this period and hope you did not occur any discomfort due to short notice changes in our flight schedules at this time.
Until further notice, Lufthansa Cargo will be unable to land at Afonso Pena International Airport (CWB) in the Brazilian city of Curitiba, as the airport has temporarily had its fire-fighting category downgraded. The downgrading occurred at the very moment that the time that landing rights for the summer timetable were being granted. As a result of inadequate infrastructure these rights cannot currently be renewed and certain types of aircraft - including our MD-11F - may not land in Curitiba until the infrastructure problems have been resolved.
To reduce the effect of the restrictions as much as possible for our customers, new truck services have been arranged which will link Curitiba Airport on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from the Lufthansa Cargo freighter destination of Viracopos. The truck services are bookable in our systems under the following flight number:
LH6962S VCP 0900-1700 CWB (Day 2,3,4,5)
Viracopos (VCP), in the northwest of São Paulo, will continue to be served as usual nine times a week from our Frankfurt hub. In VCP the flights will be linked as follows with the truck services to CWB (times in LT):
| Frankfurt - Viracopos (VCP) | Truck-Service VCP-CWB | |||
| Day | Flight | Dep | Arr | |
| Mon | LH8274 | 06:25 | 15:10 | LH6962S/Wed |

We sincerely regret any possible delays. Please rest assured that the employees of Lufthansa Cargo at the stations are doing everything they can to keep the impairments as limited as possible for our customers.
We hope that the infrastructure bottlenecks will be cleared as quickly as possible so that we will be able to land at CWB Airport again.
