Dr. Martin Schmitt - Executive Board Finance and Human Resources Lufthansa Cargo AG

Martin Schmitt was born in Mainz on August 9th, 1960. He studied law in Constance and London.
He completed his studies with the ability of the judicial office and worked as a scientific employee at Constance University from 1987 to 1989.  He did a doctorate to the LL.D. there.
Dr. Schmitt began his career at Lufthansa in 1989.  Until 1998 he held several positions within the area of Human Resources including Head of Human Resources for Cabin Staff.
From 1998 to 2001 he was in charge of Munich Station (Operations & Airport Services) and Board Representative at Lufthansa’s Munich hub.
In 2001 Dr. Martin Schmitt was assigned Head of Corporate Personnel Policy for Lufthansa AG. His responsibility was amongst others the group wide Human Resources and Industrial Relations, Lufthansa School of Business, university marketing and trainee programs.
Dr. Martin Schmitt is Member of the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board, responsible for Finance and Human Resources. This comprises Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Procurement & Infrastructure and Information Management.
Dr. Schmitt is married and has two sons.
